Private tour for 1 to 3 people.   Santa Fe, New Mexico is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!  There are so many shops, all full of stuff we really want to buy. From Indian Jewelry, trendy clothes, hand-tooled boots, OMG, hats, and art. The glass is full! Santa Fe truly captures the spirit and style of the Southwest with the adobe style of its buildings and architectural design. The oldest capital city in the United States, Santa Fe wows visitors with endless beauty. A walk through the streets around the historic plaza will lead you to shops and galleries, restaurants, museums, and historic churches. At the Palace of the Governors, you can admire the artwork and jewelry created by the Native Americans sitting under the portal. Walk up  scenic Canyon Road  with over eighty galleries, restaurants and shops. Santa Fe is an art lover’s and History Buffs’ paradise. From museums to galleries to restaurants, you will be awe struck!

We can visit the downtown Museums.  The Palace of the Governors is the oldest continually operated building in the U.S. and home to the New Mexico Museum of History, the New Mexico Museum of Art and its outstanding collection of art by southwestern artists, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum dedicated to her life and artistic legacy, as well as to American Modernism. We can visit the famous churches, the historic Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi, a Santa Fe landmark, and a beautiful example of Romanesque Revival architecture and just down the street, the Loretto Chapel and marvel at its mysterious spiral staircase. The identity of its builder and the physics of its construction still puzzle experts today. After lunch at one of the many downtown restaurants where there are chefs galore, cooking for you with the food style of your choice, Italian, New Mexican, Asian, elegant bar menus, Tapas, and steak houses, all in environments that you really have to photograph for people at home to believe.  Really it would take a year eating out every day to beginning to taste all the possibilities.  A gallery walk and shopping at the many stores in downtown and Canyon Road should quench your need for art, beauty, hats, belts, clothing, paintings, prints, chocolates, and other objects of desire. The offerings do not stop with the exciting shopping from gewgaws to exquisite art pieces sought after by collectors world-wide, and the galleries full of local and international artists available on our Canyon Road Tour.  On our way back to Albuquerque we can visit Museum Hill and take your pick of four world-class museums presenting folk traditions from around the world (Museum of International Folk Art), the history of the Spanish colonial past (Spanish Colonial Arts Museum), and the art, history and culture of the Native American Southwest (Wheelwright Museum and Museum of Indian Arts and Culture). For an added bonus, there’s a Botanical Garden and a cafe. You will have to chose how long to stay and how far to go.  We have 6 hours if we start in Albuquerque and 8 hours if we start in Santa Fe.  You have the choices, the Corn Maidens will drive you, walk with you, guide you, laugh with you and return you to your hotel. This is a private tour for 1-3 people.   We can do as much as you like and can fit in 8 hours.  We can drive through historic Route 66-downtown Albuquerque; visit the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, museum, & store; Old Town-plaza, church, hidden patios, galleries/shops.
We will drive north on Rio Grande Blvd, following the river through the valley occupied by Pueblo Indians, Spanish settlers and still is home to farms, and wine growers.
We can visit historic Los Poblanos Lavender Farm/shop; the village of Corrales; and prehistoric Pueblo Indian village of Kuaua (Coronado State Monument-established during the Classic Period of Anasazi Culture). On our way back to Albuquerque we will see Sandia Pueblo's herds of cattle and Buffalo and ride the Sandia Peak Tram for magnificent views of the area.
This is a perfect tour of the present and past filling you with beauty and delicious food. Lunch options are many depending on your cravings. Great Photo tour!

The Albuquerque Tour begins at the Albuquerque Old Town and Plaza.  Old Town is the oldest part of the city with the oldest buildings in both the territorial and pueblos adobe styles.   Here we can stroll the Plaza, dine at one of the many restaurants, visit museums, or shop at over 150 stores and galleries.  Quiet hidden patios, winding brick paths, gardens and balconies are waiting to be discovered!
A stop for lunch at the Pueblo Harvest Café, is a definite option. The Café is inviting with indoor and outdoor seating serving traditional Pueblo flavors and New Mexico style cooking.   It gets better!  Every Saturday & Sunday at 12 pm the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center offers traditional Native American dances from the 19 Pueblos of New Mexico, as well as Plains Style, Navajo, Apache, and Hopi dancers.
Driving north on Rio Grande Boulevard we can visit the historic Los Poblanos Ranch and the Farm Shop that features artisan lavender products made from organic lavender essential oil along with their farm foods collection fresh from the kitchen located by the Rio Grande River and the Bosque (one of the largest Cottonwood forests in the world).
Down the road, the Tasting Room at Casa Rondeña Winery allows us the opportunity to sample the entire portfolio of fine wines made on the winery premises. The Tasting Room staff is knowledgeable about wine, and we can not only taste, but also purchase award-winning wines. The gift shop is filled with items from local artisans.  We can also have a glass of wine on the patio and walk the beautiful grounds. It is like a quick trip to Italy with Tuscany style buildings, gardens and ponds. The Boulevard continues through a winding path by farms and extraordinary houses to Corrales a small village to the north of Albuquerque.  Tours to Corrales and beyond are also available.
Next, a visit to the prehistoric Pueblo Indian village of Kuaua, one of many large settlements established during the Classic Period (1325 to 1600 A.D.) of Anasazi Culture. The site, located on the west bank of the Rio Grande just north of Albuquerque, includes the remains of 1,200 interconnected adobe-walled surface dwellings and storage rooms, six kivas and three ceremonial plazas. Also located on the site is a Spanish Pueblo Revival style museum.  We can climb down inside a restored Kiva by ladder to experience the ancient center of spiritual life for the Anasazi people.
A drive to the Sandia Tram is another possibility.  This trip on the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway transports you above deep canyons and breathtaking terrain a distance of 2.7 miles.  At sunset the desert skies produce a spectacular array of color, and your vantage point from the observation deck atop 10,378 foot Sandia Peak in the Cibola National Forest affords an 11,000 square-mile panoramic view of the Rio Grande Valley and the Land of Enchantment. We can take 1-3 people on this tour.  for more please call.

Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge
The trip is into the history of New Mexico and our famous Rio Grande River Valley.  We will share the beauty of of the journey, the lore, and the excitement of a close encounter with nature.   An hour and a half south of Albuquerque, New Mexico is the Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge. During spring and fall migration, the 57,331-acre refuge is a spot to rest and refuel for many birds as they follow the Rio Grande through the woodlands which hugs the riverbanks.  The riverbank forest is called a Bosque and it is named for the Warm Spring Apache tribe that once occupied this area.  Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge contains thirty-thousand acres of wilderness, providing solitude and offering adventure to those who seek it. This dry desert habitat is home to jackrabbits, quail, and lizards, as well as creosote, sunflower, and mesquite.
The wetlands of the refuge are bordered by the Chupadera Mountians to the west and the San Pascual Mountains to the east.  During the Fall and Winter, the refuge is home to tens of thousands of cranes, geese, ducks and other migrating waterfowl following the river.   The first cranes and geese typically show up at the end of October, during which time coyotes, mule deer, and javelina are moving through open fields as well. Wild turkeys begin moving to the northern part of the refuge to join up with other family groups in separate male and female roosting flocks. Thousands of snow geese, Ross’s geese, and Sandhill cranes spend the night in water to protect themselves from predators. Near dawn, the geese take off en masse in search of fields throughout the Middle Rio Grande Valley to feed in for the day. They return at sunset.  When we drive the loop trail, we will see flooded lakes, feeding fields and, with luck,  hawks, eagles, blackbirds, ravens, coots, and other birds along with occasional mammals, such as mule deer, coyotes, and jackrabbits.  The sunset is time to watch as thousands of cranes return to the water after a day of feeding.  This fly-in is a breath-taking event never to be forgotten. As the Bosque del Apache settles into the night, we will say good-night to our adventure.  Returning to Albuquerque, we have the option to stop at the famous Owl Cafe for green-chili cheeseburgers with fries Make sure you bring a camera!

Jemez Pueblo, Soda Dam & Falls (6 hours) $ 295 USD
Our archeological journey into the past of New Mexico includes both tours of architectural ruins and stunning landscapes.  This is an amazing geology field trip to observe red rocks (sandstones with a thin coating of the mineral hematite an iron oxide), surreal Soda Dam formation (made from calcium deposits) dating back roughly 5,000 years, Battleship Rock (a sheer cliff that rises suddenly above the river like the prow of a ship) and the Jemez Falls.  There is also plenty of history to see such as the Walatowa Visitor Center & Museum of History and Culture and Jemez State Monument which consists of the ruins of an ancient pueblo of the Jemez people known as Giusewa and the ruins of a 17th Century Spanish mission known as San Jose de los Jemez. Approximately 700 years ago, ancestors of the present day people of Jémez (Walatowa) Pueblo, constructed a large pueblo in the narrow San Diego Canyon. This mission complex was constructed with Pueblo labor ... According to contemporary reports, the construction was "sumptuous and curious" in its design and beauty. The church is unusual for its massive size and rare, octagonal bell tower. Colorful frescos that once decorated the interior walls were revealed during archaeological excavations in 1921 and 1922. A 1,400 foot interpretive trail winds through the 7 acre site. The visitor center contains exhibits interpreting historic events from the perspective of the Jémez people. We will also visit the village of Jemez Springs a place bubbling with soothing hot springs and family owned businesses ranging from handmade mineral make-up products to Native American pottery and jewelry. Galleries line the main road with offerings of native made pottery and crafts as well as art items from local residents.  The return trip can include an optional tour of the Ponderosa Winery, set in a a small valley lined with wine groves, cottonwood trees, and rock formations.

Riding the soft desert wind in a hot air balloon is the perfect way to celebrate your special occasions with friends, family or when romance is in the air, and there is no better place to enjoy it than around Taos.
Our Champagne balloon flights provide guests beautiful panoramas of Taos and the Sangre de Cristo's before we drop down into the Gorge and kiss the historic Rio Grande river as it gently flows south into the Gulf of Mexico. This is the most thrilling balloon ride anywhere. Your Pueblo Balloon adventure begins bright and early. Our experienced crew and experienced FAA certified pilots are personable, knowledgeable and entertaining. After the flight we celebrate with the traditional Champagne (or sparkling cider) toast where you'll be presented your official "Flight Certificates."

We fly most days at sunrise, weather permitting. We begin by meeting you at the visitor’s center here in town, which is easy to find right on the main road. Once we pick you up there, we will transport you to the launch site where we will inflate the balloon and fly for about an hour. During the summer months this flight will often be in the Rio Grande Gorge, but we always decide where and when to fly based on what is safest for that particular day. During the flight, depending upon the direction of the winds on flight day, you will have great views of the Taos Mountains, The gorge itself, and beautiful wildlife. We have a chase crew that follows us during the flight and will meet us shortly after landing. After we pack the equipment, we will go the Rio Grande Gorge bridge for a champagne ceremony and a light snack. We always have non-alcoholic alternatives available as well. Each person that flew will receive a commemorative flight certificate to celebrate their adventure.
The whole duration of the event is about 3 ½ hours with the flight portion being about 1 hour.
